SonicCouture – Tingklik v2.0.0 (KONTAKT)

Tingklik is a bamboo percussion instrument from Bali. It is often used in Rindik music, so it is sometimes referred to as Rindik itself. Rindik music usually involves two Tingklik musicians and one Suling (bamboo flute). Tingklik usually has 11 bamboo pipes, although the instrument we sampled has 12. With five notes per octave, the range is just over 2 octaves. Pipes are suspended on a rope on a wooden frame. The performer sits on the ground and hits the bamboo tubes with rubber-tipped hammers. The Tingklik instrument player uses both hands, hammering in constant rhythm. The left hand usually plays the melody, and the right hand plays the accompaniment.
