reFX – Rippler v1.0.40 VR VST3 AAX AU WIN MAC
Rethinking Modal Synthesis
Rippler utilizes modern modal synthesis with technologies like bidirectional energy transfer, combined with classic subtractive synthesis featuring two oscillators and two filters.
At its core, Rippler uses resonator blocks to simulate the sounds of various instruments without relying on samples. With a wide range of modulation parameters, it can produce an extensive variety of sounds—from lush pads and strings to percussion and plucked instruments.
Modulation Everywhere
Every parameter can be modulated by multiple sources, including envelopes and LFOs. A simple drag-and-drop modulation system makes it easy to create complex, evolving sounds.
Customize the relationship between modulations using custom response curves with the Mod Mapping feature. Transform linear modulation into exponential, S-shaped, or stepped modulation to precisely control how each source affects the final result.
Modular Effects Chain
Enjoy 13 effects on the master bus and 12 effects on each layer, all arranged in a fully modular chain.
Reorder effects in any combination to create unique sonic textures, ranging from subtle warmth to extreme sonic destruction.
Two-Layer Architecture
Two independent synthesis layers provide parallel and serial resonator routing.
Bidirectional energy transfer between resonators creates rich, fluid timbres that respond naturally to your playing.
Rippler v1.0.40 [August 7, 2026]
New
- Added new Noise Density mode (enabled by default).
- When MPE is enabled, MPE modulations are added to the current preset (optional).
- Audio input is now optional.
- Added a link to tutorials in the menu at the top of the screen.
Changes
- Enabling MPE is now a global setting, not a preset.
- Reduced audio bandwidth usage when using low-frequency modulation.
Fixes
- Fixed a crash when editing modulation connections while audio was playing.
- Fixed a bug where undo actions would not honor the first change.
- Fixed a bug where the Rand modulator behaved differently on macOS than on Windows.
- The plugin no longer crashes the host if an internal error occurs during audio processing.
- Fixed a bug where updating the partial display in manual mode
after closing the zoom window would not update the partials. - Fixed a bug where the wrong partials were selected in manual mode.
- Fixed a bug where filters would not update coefficients when changing filter type.
- Fixed a bug where the filter spectrum would freeze when cleaning voices.
- Fixed a bug where the vowel filter would not play different sounds when repeating notes.
- Fixed an issue where increasing the LFO frequency would cause distortion.
- Fixed an issue where frequency settings would interpolate
instead of rounding to the nearest value when using MTS-ESP and files. - Fixed an issue where Linked Resonators would explode at sample rates above 44,100 Hz.
- Fixed an issue where Linked Resonators would have different output levels depending on sample rate.
- Fixed an issue where saving and restoring preset settings
would not preserve the preview volume.
