Centuries of Dazzling Sound
Experience the authentic sound of a prized instrument from the world’s most famous luthier. The Vesuvius violin, created in 1727 by Antonio Stradivari, embodies the unrivaled craftsmanship of the Italian master. THE STRADIVARI VIOLIN reproduces the sound of this historic instrument in meticulous detail, as it was played by master musicians in the rich acoustic environment of the Auditorium Giovanni Arvedi in Cremona. Chromatically sampled notes, phase-aligned velocity crossfades, precise vibrato reproduction, multiple articulations and mixable microphone positions enable the creation of incredibly expressive and realistic string solos with a unique timbre that has been known for 300 years.
Create fluid, dynamic passages
Create natural, vibrant violin solos. Smooth, phase-aligned velocity crossfades on long articulations eliminate phasing when transitioning between dynamic layers.
New in version 2.0: Weave In Real-world Vibrato
Innovative simulation of live, virtuosic vibrato performance, now combined with recorded vibrato in pitch articulations, delivers incredibly realistic results with real-time control and automation.
Fine-tune pitch tones
Customize the perfect tone for long articulations. Choose the Low Strings fingerboard position for a soft, mellow sound or the High Strings position for a brighter, more vibrant sound. Or choose Smart mode, which intelligently selects the closest fretboard position to other notes being played, just like a real violinist would.
Wide range of articulations
Choose from 20 articulations, including long, short, expressive, dynamic and special, each with up to three legato transitions. Or choose the adaptive Virtuoso articulation, which intelligently combines multiple articulations based on the velocity, note and pitch you generate with a MIDI controller.
Mix multiple mic positions
Place your Stradivari in the ideal acoustic space. The multi-mic version of the instrument features mix faders that let you set up three separate mixes for up to 32 microphones. Mix near, middle and far mic positions. The included STRADIVARI VIOLIN version 2 provides a stereo mix that reduces the load on the processor and RAM, speeding up your workflow and allowing you to better focus on composing.
Creating Classics
The Stradivarius Violin is the culmination of years of collaborative planning and execution between e-instruments, Native Instruments and the Museo del Violino in Cremona, Italy. The Museo del Violino has launched a project to digitally preserve iconic historic instruments from its collection, enabling a new generation of contemporary musicians to use them in their work.
- The Museo del Violino features rare and priceless historic instruments spanning centuries, reflecting Cremona’s deep tradition of excellence.
- The finest craftsmanship, specially treated wood, hundreds of years of aging and generations of master players result in the exceptionally rich and vibrant sound of Stradivarius instruments.
- The Vesuvius Violin was painstakingly recorded in the Auditorium Giovanni Arvedi, a concert hall with rich acoustics designed by Italian architect Giorgio Palù with the help of acoustic pioneer Yasuhisa Toyota.
